Paul travels to Grand Rapids, MI in early September. This will be the chance to see where Don grew up and attended his high school.

Paul travels to gather some illustration footage in Rome, Italy, between February 2-4, 2013.






The long-prepared exhibition Retrospective: Donald Stoltenberg is on display April 7 - May 13, 2012 at Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis ,

Massachusetts .



ZULLO Gallery in Medfield, MA, is preparing a new exhibition of Selected Artists from The New England Watercolor Society. The show will feature around 8-10 artists with 6-8 pieces of work each and Donald was asked to participate. The show will run from Feb 4. through March 25, 2012.




February 5th 2011 - Paul visited the Bauhaus museum and Archive in Berlin. No interview was given, but he has found some material on classmates of Donald's from the Institute of Design in Chicago.



October 23rd, 2010 - 12th Biennial North American Show ends on October 24. Donald won the first price award of the New England Watercolor Society for his Bridge Beams (2010).




August 18, 2010 - Old Colony Bridge is finally finished. Don once said: "I am so close to finishing it, that I get bored by it." It is a large oil, 50" x 66".




June 10, 2010 -  Donald was asked by Mr. O'Shaughnessy, the director of Interior Design dept. at Carnival, to collaborate on revitalization of the gangways at Pier 90 in Manhattan that lead to their ships. Mr. O'Shaughnessy has admired Donald's watercolors of ocean liners for years, and he talks with Donald about the way to turn the gangways into kind of marine gallery.

April 6, 2010 - Museum of the City of New York is interested in reproducing Donald's print Quensboro Bridge in an upcoming exhibition catalog entitled Glorious Sky: Herbert Katzman's New York. Jillian Russo, a curatorial assistant, says: "Katzman was an expressionist artist who painted the New York cityscape. He admired Stoltenberg's etching of the Queenboro Bridge and saved a clipping of it from a magazine". Katzman was a Chicago-born artist (1923-2004). Click here to find more on Herbert Katzman. February 22, 2010 - Paul's mid-February trip to film in New York and Wisconsin was fruitful. Visited Manitowoc and Sturgeon Bay. All people net on the way were very helpful and very nice. Unfortunately, filming at the American Watercolor Society did not work out.



December 27th, 2009 - Donald's New Year's card is different this year. Not a linocut as usually, but a colored sketch of the Brewster house. Notice the large studio window on the added part on the right side.



November 16, 2009 - Paul returned from another trip of mine, which involved a visit to Dallas, TX to visit the only living relative of Donald's - cousin Dick. Working on the update to the journal and photo gallery.


October 7, 2009 - Paul was contacted by Robert Lipprandt of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., connected to Donald mother's family, regarding the genealogy research. Donald was the missing link in the Belitz - Huhn - Stoltenberg family tree. We are getting more interesting historical information.

September 17, 2009 - Paul is updating the photo gallery, more photos are being added every day. The trip to Chicago and Boston came out well though Paul did not meet as many people as he was hoping to. He did meet Robert Amft, had a nice visit to Milwaukee, WI, was successful to get a nice footage of flying over the Lake Michigan, had a wonderful weather for filming in Boston and met two more artists in the area. Also had a brief visit at Don's.
